Your first cook on forged ceramic
Wash, dry, warm the oil, then cook. The five minutes that set up years of easy release.

Forged ceramic arrives ready to cook — there is no seasoning ritual, no oven cycle, no waiting. What it does ask for is a gentle first introduction to heat.
Before the first use
Rinse the pan in warm water with a drop of mild dish soap, then dry it completely with a soft cloth. Ceramic dislikes standing water more than it dislikes heat.
The first cook
Set the pan on low to medium heat for about a minute, add a teaspoon of oil or ghee, and let it thin out across the surface before anything else goes in. Cold oil in a cold pan works too — what you want to avoid is a dry pan on a roaring flame.
- Keep the flame within the base of the pan
- Medium heat is enough for almost everything
- Add a thin film of fat before proteins and eggs
- Let the pan cool before it meets water
